Silent Sundays

I just love when I visit someone's home and there is a photo album sitting on the coffee table inviting me to look inside. There's just something about seeing photos of someone's life...maybe a wedding, a new baby or grandbaby, a cherished moment with family, or a son's Little League game. For me, it doesn't really matter what it is...if it's in pictures, it was important enough for them to record forever!
So, I thought that on Sundays it might be fun to be able to "visit" with friends here on the web. I have created "Silent Sundays" as a way to do that!
The plan is for each blogger that wants to join in to post 3-5 photos (less or more if you want!) with no commentary at all. This is just a glimpse into your life, your family, a special event, whatever you want to share! It won't take long for someone else to "drop in", check out your "photo album", and then move onto the next "home". If you're like me, you don't spend much time online on Sundays, but browsing a few select blogs would be really fun during naptime!
So, this is the first official "Silent Sundays" post...although it's not silent...it will be next week! I hope you enjoy it and you'll join me! If you post pics on your blog today, please come back here and enter your website into the Mr. Linky below. We may not have many today, but I'm hoping this will gain momentum at some point down the road...I think it could be really fun!

What a wonderful idea! I have posted a few sets of pictures this weekend. I love pictures. You'll never get that moment in time back. Cherish your children. My oldest just moved to Maryland (from PA) and I miss her so much. Pictures are wonderful.

A while back I read through your post on why your homeschooling philosophy, and appreciated the expressions and convictions of your heart. This is a tender issue for me however, and I think there are a lot of assumptions (with a fair degree of inaccuracy) on both 'sides' of the decision. Nonetheless, I have GREAT respect for EACH decision a family makes, trusting that the Lord will direct them uniquely and trusting their ability to hear & follow Him.
We have several very dear friends who homeschool, whom I respect greatly for their decision because they've sought the Lord for His wisdom and stepped out in faith to follow. Our family does "charter school" because we sought the Lord for His wisdom and also stepped out in faith to follow Him. My struggle is that respect for our different path isn't a shared one.
Your last paragraph was particularly difficult for me, because in no way, whatsoever, have we "passed on the responsibility" of raising our children to others. We too are purposing to develop the WHOLE child - mind, heart, body, soul.
And why am I telling you all of this?? Because somehow I think reading your blog, listening to you, will help to heal some of the hurt I have "from" Christian sisters who condemn our choice without so much as even listening to the beautiful story of how the Lord has brought us to this place, how He's directed, provided in the most surprising of ways which we couldn't predict and didn't even know enough to pray for and is blessing us bountifully!!
So even though our methods of nurture & education for our children our different, I hope you'll still welcome me here to read, explore and grow! Whenever I start to get too overwhelmed by the different expressions of obedience, I hear Jesus' words to Peter in John 21 "What is that to you? You must follow me" - and I'm free again to just be ME IN HIM!!
Thank you for shining forth His light in the way that only you uniquely can!! The whole Body is built up under it!
