Simple Woman's Daybook ~ 12/1/08

For Today...

Outside my Window...is a rainy/snowy/windy/blustery/cold winter day ~ great for sitting in front of the fire with a cup of hot tea and a good book!

I am thinking...that I can't believe today is December 1st. I know it's cliche, but really...where did the time go?

From the learning rooms...we are halfway through the year and making some changes to our curriculum. We love the LIFEPACS for Bible, Science, and Math, but they're just not doing the trick for Language Arts and History/Geography. Had a good morning learning about adjectives (comparative and superlative) and reviewing subjects, predicates, and noun objects within a sentence.

I am thankful for...a healthy family, a warm home, a cupboard full of food, and a quiet afternoon for resting!

From the kitchen...we are starting Benjamin on a gluten-free, casein free (GFCF) diet, so there are major changes in my kitchen this week. I'm just learning all the things he can/cannot have. No wheat, no dairy...that cuts out a lot of things! Oh yeah, that's another thing I'm thankful for today...the internet so I can research without limitations!

I am wearing...a long denim skirt, a purple shirt with matching purple sweater, barefeet

I am reading...The Lie: Evolution by Ken Ham and Genesis (NIV...wish I had KJV!)

I am hoping...to get started on Christmas preparations later this evening. I have boxes of gifts to get sent out and cards to address and stamp.

I am creating...not much of anything right now unless I can count our new home/school schedule that I'm trying to work out.

I am hearing...Jack crying and Addy playing (they're both supposed to be napping) and Benjamin reading out loud in the living room.

Around the house...a little messy today, coming off the weekend, but I'm slowly getting it back to normal! Did I mention today is the kind of day where you want to snuggle up and read?

One of my favorite things...is watching the snow fall quietly in the trees outside my window.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...errands, school lessons, lots of reading (alone and with the kids), looking forward to a shipment that should be coming from Vision Forum, catching up on laundry and cleaning, preschool reading program at the library, a little Christmas shopping

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...

(She dressed herself this morning! LOL)

Blessings!
Brandi

It sounds like we had the same weather here! I had to PUSH myself to go out and do my errands! I also love the rare day when I can let the housework go and curl up with a good book.

So, your daughter is dressing herself! That's a big milestone. If parents can just let their aesthetic sense go and ignore the mismatched colors, etc., well it will save moms a lot of work!

Aw, I think she did a great job dressing herself. Very stylish. She takes after her Aunt Ber-Ber I guess.
