I've been told that this is an Amish "buggy quilt" that they use in their carriages when it's cold outside. It's not as big as a bed quilt. I found it packed up in some of my mom's things that they had left in storage. Quite a find, huh?
This is also a store bought quilt that we got for Benjamin when he moved into his "big boy" bed for the first time. I can't believe that was 6 years ago! And it still covers his bed today.
This is my latest project ~ curtains for my French doors. This is really my first quilting project, so it's very simple squares. And since they're curtains, they're not getting any padding in the middle. My mother-in-law is helping me with these, but this last panel I have done completely on my own. I'll post a picture when they're finished and hung.
And these are the leftover squares from my curtain project that the winner of the quilt book giveaway will be receiving.
And I thought I'd include a picture of my patchwork teddy bear ~ I got it from my mom's things, too. Isn't he great?
Last but not least, if you didn't read my post about my heirloom quilt that my mother-in-law made me, check it out here.
Good luck to all of you who entered the quilt book giveaway! And thanks so much for posting your picture, I've really enjoyed seeing them. If you haven't entered yet, there's still time! I'm extending the deadline until Saturday 8/23 at midnight!
See my next post for details...
'Til then...

Hi Brandi!
I'm so sorry I put the author's name instead of yours!!! I have corrected my post and have now gotten a chance to look at the new quilt pics you posted. I love all your quilts. I especially love your idea for curtain panels!!! That's very creative, as well as beautiful. Do you have a pattern for the patchwork bear? He's a cutie!
Yesterday was my 35th birthday, so wouldnt that quilt book be a great b-day present for me??? LOL
Thank you for visiting my blog! Come back any time. I will be adding some quilting tutorials soon to our front porch at homesteadblogger. My first one will involve quick ideas using the cathedral window pattern.

Awwww.... it was great to see those things again! I want them back! Haha - just kidding!
That is a very neat idea for curtains. I am going to attempt them and I will post on my progress. Our fabric store is having a sale on fabric. I may swing by the thrift store to see what I may be able to find for sheets to use. Thanks for the idea.
Love looking at the quilts. Those are some pretty prints that you are going to use for the curtains. Thanks for sharing the link with me.
