Nebulizers and Blog Traffic

Good Morning!

Well, it turns out that after a week of off and on fevers, a cough that progressively got worse, and a puking episode in the middle of Wal-Mart on Monday, Benjamin has pneumonia!

When his fever spiked to 103 degrees yesterday, I decided it was time to take him in. I spent 4 hours with all 3 kids in the doctor's office while they gave him a breathing treatment and observed him. Then, we had to spend an hour in Wal-Mart waiting for prescriptions and another half hour at the hospital for chest x-rays! They almost admitted him to the hospital, but since his fever came down and he "perked up" after they gave him Motrin, they decided to let him come home.

So the regimen begins: breathing treatments 4 times a day using a nebulizer, antibiotic once a day, decongestant twice a day, Tylenol every 4 hours, Motrin every 8 hours...all of this for a child who has not been sick since he had an ear infection when he 2 months old and doesn't even know what medicine is or tastes like! Trust me, he's not happy!

Funny thing is, the worst part for him was that he had to wear a "bracelet" last night at the hospital. You should have seen how fast that thing came off when the x-ray was over!

So, we're off to find a home health care pharmacy that has nebulizers. In this neck of the woods, that's not as easy as it sounds and it's at least 35 minutes away.

Needless to say, I wasn't able to post the recipes I told you I would yesterday, but I will try to get to that this afternoon...thanks for your patience!

And BTW, I got almost 450 visits to my blog yesterday and more than 75 entries for the book giveaway...WOW!!! This week's giveaway is a popular one! It's so great to "see" so many of you stopping by!

Have a blessed day!
Brandi

Poor B-B!!! I said a prayer for him when Mom told me this morning. I'll keep it up until he's 100% better. And I'll keep my fingers crossed hoping that the rest of you don't get it.

I love you! I'm on my way to read the rest of your blog...you're distracting me from my homework! :)

Brandi,
We'll be praying for a quick recovery, and that none of y'all get it as well. Praying also that the Lord give you energy to take care of your family, especially your sick oldest baby.
Peace, Kris
