My grandmother (we call her "Baba") and my parents put out a great little family newsletter every month called The Family Connection. It gets sent all over the country to over 100 different addresses, all part of our extended family. They do a really great job. Baba writes an editorial every month and chooses which stories and pictures will make up the publication, and then my mom and dad do the layout. It is a 4-page, full-color newsletter and it's always fun to get it in the mail.
I have collected every issue since the first one several years ago. I have them all organized in a binder that my children will inherit someday. What a great way to pass on family history!
I have to admit, I usually don't know who half the people are in the newsletter. Isn't that amazing? I could literally go to Charleston and sit down in a restaurant next to a far-removed cousin and not even know it! Actually, that really could happen since I know of one family that lives about an hour and a half from me...I should really make an effort to meet them!
Anyway, I'm telling you all of this because Baba printed one of my stories from this blog in this month's issue. She's my grandmother...she's biased in thinking I'm a good writer, so she decided to share! Thanks, Baba! It was kind of fun to see my name "in print" and be called a "writer"...makes it seem way more official than it really is!

Well, I was reading your blog before this month's newsletter arrived, but when it came in the mail a few days ago I got to laugh at your story again. You're famous now! Woo-hoo! :) I always feel special when I make it into the Family Connection, haha.
